Want a broader understanding of the architectural profession? Ready for a deep dive into the design process? Want to work on your design skills? Developing work for your portfolio and your presentation skills? Well\, then this is your studio. \nOur architecture studio meets online every Saturday for 6 weeks. We’ll focus on developing using digital design tools. You’ll learn foundational architectural concepts and terms in the iterative design process\, moving from concept to design. DESCRIPTION:The Construction Industry Education Foundation 2026 Oregon Design Build Competition\nOrganized by The Construction Industry Education Foundation  \n\n\n\n\nWednesday\, May 13\, 2026 8:00 AM – Thursday\, May 14\, 2026 4:00 PM PST\n\n\nChemeketa Community College\n4000 Lancaster Dr\nSalem\, OR 97305\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) Design Build Competition® promotes career awareness of the built environment among high school students through hands-on experience in the construction process. It provides a first-hand look at future opportunities in the industry. As it recognizes student ingenuity and achievement\, the Competition allows the construction industry to support\, partner with\, and mentor schools\, students\, and career technical education programs. Each participating team is challenged to design\, plan\, and construct a 96+ sq. ft. structure that meets a set of criteria established under the advisement of industry professionals. Through sponsorships and grants\, teams compete at no cost to any student or school. \nOn the second day of the Competition\, CIEF hosts The Industry Lunch. This networking event brings together professionals from the built environment\, along with other community\, regional and national sponsors and stakeholders of the Competition\, including students\, parents\, teachers\, and counselors.
