SUMMARY:Meet & Greet: 2026 PAE Scholar\, Brooklynn Roth
DESCRIPTION:Join AFO and PAE at a virtual celebration for our 2026 PAE Scholar\, Brooklynn Roth.\nSpend your Wednesday lunch hour meeting Brooklynn and learning more about the annual $5\,000 PAE Diversity in Engineering Scholarship! \nBrooklynn Roth (she/her) is a Civil Engineering student at George Fox University\, passionate about creating more connected\, sustainable\, and equitable communities. She believes that transit infrastructure has the power to shape opportunity and hopes to design transportation systems that reduce dependence on cars. \nThrough her studies she is exploring how public transit\, including railways and safer bike networks\, can improve mobility\, reduce environmental impact\, and help underserved communities thrive. “Access to public transit has been repeatedly shown to be the single biggest factor in an individual escaping a state of poverty. I dream of a future not where the poor drive\, but where the rich take the train.” As an aspiring civil engineer\, she is committed to building transportation systems that reduce inequality\, increase efficiency\, and protect the environment. \nMeet & Greet: 2026 PAE Scholar\, Brooklynn Roth\nWednesday\, July 8\n12:00-12:45pm\nVirtual \nRegister Now

SUMMARY:Rothko Pavilion: Cultural Commons Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join AFO and Restore Oregon for an intimate tour of the brand new Rothko Pavilion lead by Hennebery Eddy Principals Andrew Smith\, AIA and Tim Eddy\, FAIA.\nThe Rothko Pavilion is the centerpiece of the Portland Art Museum campus expansion and transformation\, bridging a former pedestrian right-of-way between Pietro Belluschi’s original museum complex to the south and the Mark building to the north. The addition is exquisite in its design and its thoughtfulness to the surrounding community\, centering accessibility and additional space for artwork. \nTour guests will see the expansion through the eyes of the designers\, exploring the challenges in connecting these two historic monuments and how the pavilion maintains the public access nature of the former campus. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore behind the scenes at one of Portland’s most significant recent cultural projects. \nCurious to learn more about the Rothko Pavilion? Join AFO for an extended discussion on July 28th at the Oregon Historical Society. More information here. \nRothko Pavilion: Cultural Commons Tour\nThursday\, July 23\n3:00-5:00pm\nPortland Art Museum\n1219 SW Park Ave\, Portland\, OR 97205 \nRegister Now\nAFO\, Restore Oregon\, & OHS Members – $50\nNon-Members – $65
