SUMMARY:Frasca Community Event: Library Ops Center
DESCRIPTION:Image credit: Hennebery Eddy Architects\nStart your day with AFO! Join us at our first event of 2024 by exploring the new Multnomah County Library Operations Center. \nThe Operations Center is the heart of the library\, where every item placed on hold is sorted in addition to being the first stop for new books and materials. Plus\, items for outreach to schools\, shelters\, and more will be centered here. \nWith Hennebery Eddy Architects leading the design of the Operations Center\, and Fortis Construction as the General Contractor\, the building will provide a pathway to greater efficiency with sustainability at the core of the work. With plans for approximately 600 photovoltaic panels on the building’s rooftop\, the goal is to make this a net-zero energy building in addition to attaining LEED Gold certification. \nOn July 6\, 2022\, the library broke ground on the Operations Center\, celebrating the start of construction for this important building.
