DESCRIPTION:Apprenticeships in science and engineering (ASE) Program\nHosted by Saturday Academy \nThe 2026 ASE Application is OPEN NOW and closes March 6th at 11:59 pm. \nThe Apprenticeships in STEAM Exploration (ASE) program connects motivated high school students with mentors in science\, technology\, engineering and math (STEM) pre-professional internships. The driving value behind the ASE program is that the interns should contribute to and learn from the mentor’s work. \nInternships are four to eight week\, part-time or full-time summer positions\, designed by mentors themselves. These internships take place in the Portland and Corvallis areas\, and historically Vancouver\, Eugene\, Bend\, Klamath Falls\, Colton\, and McMinnville. We are excited to offer opportunities for design professionals\, educators\, youth organizers\, and more to receive training on trauma-informed practices and social/emotional learning. \nAFO believes that all adults working with youth have a responsibility to not create harm\, to give youth space to express their true selves\, to look to them as experts\, and to center them in our teaching and learning. DESCRIPTION:Are you looking to enhance your Architectural Professional Portfolio?\nNOMA PDX and AFO are pleased to invite you to a comprehensive workshop this January 2026\, available both virtually and in person\, dedicated to refining your Architecture Portfolio. This workshop is open to individuals at all stages of their architectural education and careers\, and is intended to support your professional growth. \nDuring the sessions\, several accomplished architects and design professionals will be on hand to review your portfolio and address any questions you may have. \nTo maximize the benefits of this workshop\, please take note of the following guidelines: \n\nBe prepared to share a work-in-progress portfolio. (Bring whatever you have! A complete portfolio is not necessary.)\nVirtual Workshop: Ensure you have a digital version ready to share.\nPortland Workshop: Please bring a printed copy. If you do not have access to a printer\, email a PDF of your portfolio by January 26 to candice@af-oregon.org\, and it will be printed for you.
