Intimate Design Tours Across Oregon
AFO’s Design Trail explores design, engineering, and construction innovations throughout the state of Oregon and the PNW. This annual event is an opportunity for design enthusiasts to embark on intimate tours and meet the creative leadership of cities beyond Portland.
“I was super impressed at every factor – in terms of locations/venues chosen, the architects and developers who led them, and the amount of in-depth insight into the design and development process. The length of the tours and the size of the group were also spot-on, and I appreciated our fearless leaders providing us with occasional breaks to explore on our own. I would absolutely join another tour in the future. Highly recommend!”
Proceeds from the Design Trail help fund AFO’s impactful mission and educational programs like Architects in Schools, Formation Mentorship, and Scholarships. The program appeals to all design enthusiasts and we welcome anyone interested in exploring our region’s superb built environment! Don’t miss this annual event to see the region’s far-reaching design talent, all while supporting a great cause.
2026 Design Trail: Mt. Angel & Silverton

AFO’s second-annual Design Trail is exploring architectural gems in the Silverton and Mt. Angel region. Don’t miss this opportunity to join other design enthusiasts as we hear from the architects, owners, and stewards of residential and recreational structures and spaces that pepper the area. Tour stops include well-known and tucked away designs with the unique opportunity to hear from experts behind them.
