AFSF – Portfolio Workshops

Are you thinking of applying to architecture school but wondering how to put together a portfolio? If the answer is yes, then join us for our AFSF Virtual Portfolio Workshop. There are (2) options:

Workshop A – Portfolio Overview: Saturday, October 10, 1:00-2:30pm

This workshop is a single studio. The goal of this studio is to provide an opportunity for you to ask questions, hear more about what a portfolio is all about, and learn strategies & approaches for creating a portfolio.

NOTE: there are no pre-requisites for taking Workshop A and no prior architecture/design experience is needed

Workshop B – Building Your Own Portfolio: Saturday, October 17 & Saturday, October 24, 1:00-3:00pm

In the 1st studio, you’ll post examples of your work/projects on our shared digital pin-up board. This work is original work that you’re including in your portfolio. You’ll get feedback & critique from the workshop instructors, and as well peers in the studio. In addition to feedback & critique, you’ll receive recommendations on how to build up and develop your work. You’ll develop/design a layout for your portfolio and begin working on creating one section of your portfolio using one of your projects. You’ll work on this during the week in anticipation of presenting it in the 2nd studio.

The 2nd studio will be an opportunity to present a draft of the portfolio section and receive individualized feedback and critique of your work.

NOTE: Workshop A is pre-requisite for participating in Workshop B

The registration fee for the workshops are:

• Option A/ (1 Studio session) 1.5 hour studio = $200
• Option B/ (2 Studio sessions) 2 hours each studio = $1,000

If you register for Option B the pre-requisite Option A studio fee is waived **Must register for Option B to have fee waived. If after taking Option A you can still register for Option B but fee will not be prorated.
