Professional Development Workshop Series: Portfolio Tips and Techniques

Hosted by the National Organization of Minority Architects, Portland Chapter (NOMA PDX)

The objective is to meet the need for advice on advancing in your career, help direct you in their career trajectory or transition and help you walk away with some clarity on your next steps.

The Professional Development Workshop Series provides an opportunity for NOMA Members and students to exchange ideas and get feedback from people in the AEC industry.

Our plan is to meet you where you’re at within your career transition process, so through these workshops, expect to learn more about:

5/29 Virtual Workshop: Interview Tips: How to advocate for yourself and acknowledge your worth, with an opportunity to role play and leave with a list of questions one can ask the next time they have an interview.

7/17 @ Mackenzie – Cover Letters & Resumes: Bring your rough draft of your cover letters and learn how to cut the fluff out of your resume and express your core values as a designer.

Networking: How to build/maintain connections online/IRL, set up informational interviews, and submit your resume/portfolio to places. (Date TBD)

Online Presence: How to use Linked In as a tool to lead people to your online portfolio, and learn how recruiters exist to help you succeed for free! (Date TBD)
