Change is in the Air Program: Community Scientist I Application

The Community Scientist I position is open to students in grades 9-12.

The Community Scientist I position is a paid role focused on environmental monitoring and public engagement. Team members work with scientists and advocates to implement air pollution monitoring and educate the public on using air quality data to reduce toxic exposure and promote environmental justice. A successful Community Scientist I engages with their team to build and maintain air quality monitors, leveraging their cultural expertise to identify new neighborhoods for monitoring and addressing community questions.

When: July 6 – August 21 (Monday – Thursday)
Time: 9am – 3pm (times may vary for field trip days)
Rate of pay: $18 per hour
Hours per week: 24
Pay schedule: Monthly

Other paid community engagement opportunities may be offered in addition to regularly scheduled activities.
