Trauma-Informed Design at Rose Haven

July 20, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Part of AFO’s Community Events Series

Hear from the woman-led team of Gensler and Swinerton on the trauma-informed and inclusive design principles used to redesign Rose Haven’s new 10,000 sq. ft. space. Rose Haven Day Shelter and Community Center is Portland’s only day shelter supporting women, children, and gender non-conforming people in meeting their basic needs and accessing community resources.

Everyone has something to learn from this incredible project. The teams of Gensler and Swinerton will share their approach and lessons learned from the project including community visioning sessions, inclusive decision-making, color strategy, and other trauma-informed principles. We will also hear from Rose Haven’s Executive Director Katie O’Brien.

The program will include tours of the space, a panel discussion, and light beverages and refreshments.

Support Rose Haven’s Back to School Drive.  More details about requested supplies will be sent in a follow-up email to registered guests prior to the event. You can also browse Rose Haven’s Amazon Wishlist.
